Why chant bhajans and the Hare Krishna mantra?
The Vedic scriptures declare that in this age of Kali, the chanting of the holy names of God is the prescribed and most effective process for spiritual liberation (harer nama harer nama harer namaiva kevalam, kalau nasty eva nasty eva nasty eva gatir anyatha — Brhan-Naradiya Purana). Singing ISKCON bhajans purifies the heart, removes anxiety, awakens love of God (prema) and connects the soul directly to Sri Krishna through transcendental sound vibration. Srila Prabhupada often said that even a single sincere utterance of the Lord's name can deliver the chanter from material existence.
